Bellingham is growing and times are changing.
Let's keep up!
Bellingham Handmade was a curated pop up market that started in September 2018 during Bellingham Beer Week. The original market included not only handmade goods, but additionally writers, musicians and health/wellness instructors were present.
The pop ups turned into a full season long market in 2019 and we were set for an unprecedented 2020 season, hosting regular Saturday, Sunday, First Wednesdays and First Friday makers markets. The network of makers readily available meant reliable income and happy conscious consumers.
The enthusiasm for local handmade goods in the city of subdued excitement will come at no surprise to its residents. What we are lacking is the retail platforms for small business makers to grow and meet the demand of our local consumers.
Bellingham Handmade creates an environment where people can dictate their hours, work for themselves, and be good role models for their children because they’re pursuing their passions. The need to work from home is affecting all of us. We are here to help creatives build viable income and help connect the community directly to its makers.
Handmade market hopes to move online.
